Crime alert…..Two car break-ins were reported Friday 1/13, one at 8500 Freret & one at 8300 Zimpel. In both cases, papers were shuffled and small change was taken. Be sure to lock your car and don’t leave anything in view inside your car. I saw two NOPD cruisers in the same area at 6:30AM today.

Please share this week’s neighborhood updates with your friends, family and neighbors:

1.) City Planning Commission Neighborhood Participation Plan (NPP) Initial Public Meeting
6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, December 15th at Grace Episcopal Church (3700 Canal Street).
2.) The 2011 Race Against Crime 5K Run/Walk (see attachment for all details)
Formerly known as Walk the Beat, sponsored by R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and in partnership with The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9am.

All participants will be given a race number, a FREE commemorative T-shirt and one ticket to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The Bowl will also be held on December 17th, at the Louisiana Superdome at 8pm.

3.) Business Information Session (see flyer attachment)

The City’s Department of Economic Development is hosting a Business Information Session this Wednesday December 14, 2011 at All Souls Episcopal Church 5500 St. Claude Avenue New Orleans, La 70117 from 5pm-6:30pm . Businesses and residents are encouraged to come out and participate. Please spread the word as this will be the last session of the year. See attached flyer for further information.
