We need you. Please consider becoming a member of the Carrollton-Riverbend Residents’ Association. The only qualification is that you live within the area bounded by Carrollton, Claiborne, the parish line and the river. Due are $10 for individuals and $25 for households annually.

We hope that you will want to serve on a committee. That’s where most of our activity is. We have committees on:
- Beautification/Maintenance
- Blight
- Communication
- Education & Education Facilities
- Safety/crime
- Special events
- Sustainability
- Zoning/planning
Indicate which you are interested in – or suggest a new committee. And tell us about any concerns you have about the neighborhood.
Or maybe you just want to stay informed. That’s OK, too. There is no obligation to serve.

Does the membership span a particular period (calendar year, …) or is it just renewed from the time at which it’s submitted? We’re joining, but are trying to figure out if we should just wait ’til the first of the year to do so.
We typically cycle July to June. Dues are voluntary for members. Funds raised go to cover organization expenses for general membership meetings, neighborhood events and other community efforts supported by members.

I can’t seem to find information (that I’m sure I read before) about neighborhood “porch parties” or something like that. I’d like to know if y’all are looking for host homes, what dates the parties occur, and any other info that would be important to know.

Host responsibilities: Provide a porch, invite your neighbors and set up some light refreshments and a few folding chairs. We join with more chairs, refreshments and good spirits. To volunteer as a host house for 2011, email tarpsnola@yahoo.com or call (504) 617‐2572
