The Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street is applying for a permit for outdoor music. Community Meeting on Tuesday, March 12th, 6:30pm at the Bar. Go to learn what’s included in the application: type of music, acoustic or level of amplification, time parameters, etc. We all love outdoor music, AND this has the potential to have major impact on neighbors.

The Uptown Triangle Neighborhood Association will be hosting a “fireside chat” panel discussion on the ever-rising costs of homeowner’s insurance rates in New Orleans. Where high utility rates, interest rates and housing prices were already making it very difficult to afford living in New Orleans; the extraordinary jump in homeowner’s insurance rates have pushed new and existing homeowners to a financial breaking point. Something must be done to restore affordability to our city of meager means, or the people who make New Orleans the special place that it is will no longer be able to afford to live here.
Panel Discussion with four of our elected state officials:
Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon
Representative Aimee Adatto Freeman, Dist. 98
Senator Cameron Henry, Jr., Dist. 9
Senator Royce Duplessis, Dist. 5
Please bring your ideas, questions, and proposed solutions to help make this a robust and productive conversation. Questions will be submitted in written form to be asked of the panel by the moderator. You may submit your comments and questions prior to the meeting by e-mailing president@uptowntriangle.com. This discussion will be about finding real solutions to a real problem we all face. This is not a forum for politicking or partisanship.
