82% of our responses to this year’s neighborhood survey ranked Crime as the top area of concern. You have an opportunity to reinforce this message next week.

(5) Increase Recycling in Your Neighborhood Planning Meeting!
Wednesday, August 31st 6:30 – 7:30pm Grace Episcopal Church (3700 Canal St.)
Would you like to help grow recycling participation in your neighborhood? I’m reaching out to all neighborhoods across the city to plan a city-wide neighborhood recycling sign-up canvassing day. The idea is to help spread the word, educate and hopefully get new people to sign-up for curbside recycling with the city.
If we can gather together some passionate people from each neighborhood who would be interested in leading the charge to canvass their own neighborhood and motivate other neighbors to help, I think we can really have an impact in boosting participation across the city.
Hope to see you there! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Carrollton Neighbors,
I will make this short so as not to take up a bunch of your time. I was recently elected president of the Carrollton Riverbend Neighborhood Association. Our meetings are the second Thursday of every month and are typically held at Squeal Bar-B-Q in the back room. All of you are invited and welcome to come at any time.
Our current focus is on the proposed Amendment to the Master Facilities Plan for Orleans parish schools. The proposed plan calls for renovations of almost $16 million to the Johnson school located on Monroe street ( very near the parish line) Our neighborhood association is proposing to move the Johnson school to a major thoroughfare in the district- the abandoned property on Leonidas – formerly the Priestley school. Our association is seeking neighborhood support for the move of the school . So, I am asking you all if you would be willing to sign the attached petition.

Thank you for your support,
Anne
