DISTRICT A REDISTRICTING PUBLIC MEETINGS
Public meetings are being held in each council district on the Citywide Election Code and Reapportionment. District A meetings will be held on Monday, May 9 and Thursday, May 12. Community members are urged to attend these meetings to provide suggestions, ideas, and concerns. Public input is crucial. The New Orleans City Council will be making decisions soon on redistricting that will then be submitted to the Department of Justice.
District A Meetings:
Convenient for the Carrollton and Audubon neighborhoods:
– Monday, May 9 at 6pm at the Myra Clare Rogers Chapel, 1229 Broadway, on Tulane University’s Campus, between Zimpel and Plum. (Parking is on the street.)
Convenient for the Lake area and Mid-City neighborhoods:
– Thursday, May 12 at 6pm at First Baptist Church, 5290 Canal Blvd. (Free parking in lot.)
