One of the complaints received from the recent NONPACC meeting dealt
with the Auto Repair Shop located at Hickory and Fern Street. Based on
the information received, officers responded to the location to further
investigate. The business is owned by one William Brown (BM, 78 years
old). While the occupational license was current, several violations
were noted on the premises and surrounding area. In response, officers
tagged nine (9) abandoned vehicles and arranged for them to be towed by
the City. Additionally, officers cited Mr. Brown for other violations
and subsequently arrested him on several open warrants for failure to
appear in court. Officer Wilfred Eddington and Officer Edgar Staehle
will follow-up in the coming weeks to ensure that the location is
brought into compliance with all City ordinances relative to trash and
abandoned vehicles.

Please stay involved and report problems that occur via the Hot Sheets.
It is only with your participation, that we are able to be successful
with addressing these issues.

On June 12th at or about 10:20 pm, a white male picked up a black female
(known to him as Evelyn), at the corner of Hickory and Leonidas Street.
The male knew Evelyn vaguely, having met her once before. It is not
clear if he intended to pick her up or just happened to see her and
stop. After getting into the car, Evelyn directed the male to drive to
the corner of Adams and Hickory Street. While stopped at that location,
a black male walked up to the vehicle. The black male claimed that the
victim owed him money. He then began shooting into the car, striking the
white male once in the arm. At some point during the shooting, Evelyn
exited the car. She fled on foot and was unable to be located.

The white male victim in this case does not reside in New Orleans. He
sustained a single gunshot wound to his arm. His injuries are not life
threatening.

When officers located the crime scene, they found bullet casings along
with a “crack” pipe. Given the victim’s background, statements,
inconsistencies and evidence located on the scene – he may have been
attempting to purchase illegal narcotics. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect in this case can only be described as a black male in his
early 20’s. The victim was unable to provide any physical or clothing
description whatsoever.

Cambiotti or Det. Jimmie Turner at 658-6022 or 658-6020. You may also

they approached the intersection of Hillary Street and Plum Street, they
were approached by three black males wearing masks. One of the suspects

hand over their money, which they did. The suspects then fled on foot,
northbound on Hillary Street. The suspects are described as 20-23 year
old black males. All three subjects wore black bandanas over their face.

Adams and Hampson. It may also be related to a June 4th robbery from
1400 S.Carrollton. Investigators are continuing to search for
additional evidence in these crimes.
