Biodistrict Fact Sheet

This is a BIG DEAL that may well affect other neighborhoods. We’re keeping up with what’s going on with the Biodistrict CEA (Cooperative Endeavor Agreement) and will have more info in a day or so. The CEA is not yet finished. See the attached link for the fact sheet about it and why we’re supporting our friends in Mid City in their work on it.

NOTE: The 1/20 meeting has been canceled. The Fact Sheet has good info, so have a look: https://mcno.org/biodistrict-new-orleans-forum-thursday-january-20-2022-630-830pm-warren-easton-high-school/

SWB work on Panola, Mon 1/17/22

SWB sent this today, via Twitter: “Mon, Jan 17, SWBNO will perform an emergency water line repair in the 8100 block of Panola St. beginning around 9 a.m. It involves closing down a 48” water main which supplements water to Uptown neighborhoods. This may result in the potential of lower-than-normal water pressure.”

Recycling is back in our area, hooray

Ms Linda at Richard’s has confirmed that recycling will resume this week (today is 11 Jan 2022) on our regular days. For CRNA area, that’s Fridays.

Trash is still once-a-week pickup. For most of us in the CRNA area, that’s Saturday. Richard’s can answer questions: 241-2142.

We’re back (almost)!!

It’s been a minute but we’ll be back for our regular meeting date, the second Thursday in February 2022. Stay tuned for the Zoom link and agenda, which will be out at least a week before the meeting.

This Saturday, 14 Jan 2022, the Board is having a “retreat” to talk about what we’re doing and have done and so on. We try to do this every year.

Meanwhile, please feel free to fill out a membership form and email it to eleyda.crna@gmail.com!

We will send out the Zoom invite the week of the meeting.

The representatives from RoadWork Nola would like us to forward to them, prior to the meeting, a compilation of questions and concerns we have about their work. Anyone who has a question, or would like to point out a problem, and have it included in our compilation should forward it to us at ccanola70118@gmail.com.

Questions can be asked at the meeting also, time permitting, however we would prefer to have our questions in a written document for future reference.Again, everyone in invited, please spread the word. Got trash pick up? Use this form!

Friday’s meeting of the joint committee looking into the Sanitation Mess was lively indeed. And it will be continued next Tuesday (more on that shortly). We saw clearly that the contractors have no way of tracking who has/has not had trash picked up.

Joe G’s office has sent out this form, to help keep track of who has not had trash pickup since the storm. Please make use of it!

“Following today’s meeting, we would like to keep a running list of residents who have not yet received trash collection since Hurricane Ida. The intent is to collect and share this data daily with Sanitation, Richard’s, Metro, and Empire to reenforce the urgency of this issue. We would greatly appreciate it if you would share this form with your neighborhood residents. We will also be sharing this form on social media shortly. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Thank you.” https://forms.office.com/g/4g9aShDt9W
